Peter Corvaia has been at the mercy of electronic music since the early 90's. Today he is recognized as a talented producer with a unique style of house, a solid dj, and most recently as founder and co-owner of Capsuled Records. His record label, which he runs alongside partner FoNG, is quickly gaining notoriety for its quality releases. Remix requests have been flowing in at a steady pace, and Peter is now starting to bring his live show out of the studio and to the masses.
Educated as an audio engineer at New York's School of Audio Engineering (SAE), Corvaia's first love lies in the studio. But his production ideas would never have had a base were it not for the many nights spent in clubs, both as a DJ and as a listener on the dance floor. Even years before his age would catch up with his passion for music-- allowing him to participate in the all night events he desired to-- Corvaia spent countless hours listening to the electronic music of Nine Inch Nails, Faithless, and The Prodigy, as well as non-electronic artists such as The Beach Boys. All of these artists' unique sounds would have a great influence on what would become Corvaia's trademark form of techno: an intense-but-groovy lyricism that has never lost touch with its deep-house roots, nor its soul.
Over the past few years Peter has released his own style of funky and spaced out techno, on labels such as Circle Music, Frik:N:Frak, System Recordings, and New League. His recordings have been featured on several compilations and DJ mixes. 2008 will be the year Peter proves that his presence as a DJ in the clubs can match his sonically-emotional abilities in the studio. Now based again in Brooklyn, he will be running a local residency as well as traveling abroad to reach club goers around the world. He and other Capsuled Records artists are planning a tour of various venues throughout the U.S. and South America later on in the year.
